This 2012 Dry Rose is our 6th release of this wine which has secured a strong following amongst both Dry Rose and new-to-the-style enthusiasts. The 2012 Rose is made in a similar style using principally Italian grape varieties in a dry savoury easy drinking style.
This wine is made from a blend of three varieties, with Barbera and Sangiovese being the dominant varieties with a smaller amount of Cabernet Sauvignon to round out and give some weight to the wine. Presenting as a rich wine, the soft strawberry flavours of the Sangiovese blend well with the firm black cherry flavours of Barbera. The Cabernet Sauvignon adds touches of plum and spice and gives added weight to the wine with loads of fruit flavour, making for a richly flavoured wine, very savoury on the palate but bone dry for freshness.
This wine is made for early drinking and is an excellent summer wine to accompany a range of foods, due to its dry and savoury flavours.
